The maintenance costs of engines operating on short cycles are influenced by the cost and lives of LLPs. A re-examination of the CFM56-5Bs & V.2500- A5Õs maintenance costs reveals that with similar on-wing performance, the CFM56-5BÕs longer LLP lives give it an overall cost advantage.
