Can 'mini airline' operations with VLJs be economic? Issue 59 August/September 2008
The introduction of very lights jets (VLJs), with lower capital and cash operating costs than corporate jets, allows operators to provide 'mini airline' airline services and charge tariffs and charter rates at levels that are similar to airlines business class fares. The strategies of VLJ operators, the specifications & operating cost performance of leading VLJs, and the economics of 'mini airline' operations is examined.
