 Berg, Peter

Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) founded 1946 is the flag carrier in the Scandinavian countries Sweden, Norway and Denmark operating a fleet of 135 aircrafts.

Peter is managing the SCM processes within SAS Technical operation comprising contract department, purchasing, warehousing and transportation management.

About a year ago, a new production and SCM system was implemented at SAS and focus has been to implement sustainable processes for material forecasting, obsolete and surplus material handling and processes for in and out phase of aircraft affecting long term material planning.

In his previous career as an Air Force Logistic officer, Peter has served in Liberia, Uzbekistan, UAE and Congo. His last assignment was in the multinational Boeing C-17 program in Hungary responsible for building up the SCM processes for the 30-year program.

Peter has a university exam in logistic at level Captain from the Swedish National Defense College together with civilian courses in SCM, E-logistics and Transportation management.

Sander de Bree is the CEO and founder of EXSYN Aviation Solutions. Next to implementing the overall strategy he oversees all operational activities and key research and development projects within the company. Out of his role as industry specialist Sander has been involved with airlines such as Iberia, Oman Air, Vueling, Norwegian and Flybe to guide them through specific digitization projects within their maintenance & engineering operation. In addition, he directly oversaw the development of Avilytics, EXSYN's analytics and predictive capabilities tool.  He holds a BSc in aeronautical engineering and has a background in business administration. He holds a EASA certification on human factors, and IR part-m and IR part145.

Matt Bull is chief executive officer of AerData, which is part of Boeing’s maintenance and leasing portfolio. As CEO, he oversees AerData’s industry-leading offerings in the maintenance and lease market. Additionally, Bull is part of a network of leaders in Boeing AnalytX, the enterprise capability that unites together existing analytics services and products.

Prior to this role, Bull was Deputy Fleet Chief for the 787, providing 787 operators in North and South America round the clock support of technical issues. Bull started his career at Boeing as a design engineer in 787 electrical subsystems. He later was part of the team that developed the 787 E-Enabling Ground Systems organization, which developed application software to support the transfer of airplane loadable software and data to and from the airplane.

A native of Louisiana, Bull holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University, a Master in System Engineering from University of Southern California, and a Master of Business Administration from Seattle University.

Kevin is Senior Vice President at Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corporation (or EGAT) since JAN-2014. He has oversight and management of corporate finance activities at EGAT.

Spanning a period of 25 years since 1991, Kevin started his career in accounting functions at EVA Air (or EVA), a 5-Star Skytrax award winning airline and a Star Alliance partner airline. Besides working at EVA’s offices in Taiwan, he took on management of EVA’s accounting functions in Europe, based out of its Amsterdam offices over a period of 3 years, from 1997~2000.

Between 2005 and 2008, Kevin was assigned to manage the finances at EVA’s joint venture airline Shanghai Cargo based out in Shanghai, China.

Following from his finance experiences in Europe and China, Kevin was transferred from EVA in 2012 to Evergreen–EGAT, an awarding winning boutique aircraft and engine MRO center focused primarily on global 3rd party aircraft and engine maintenance.

While at EGAT, Kevin was a key Evergreen team member to negotiate and create a new engine joint venture with GE, known as GE Evergreen Engine Services or GEEVES. In the negotiation process, Kevin had oversight on the financial aspects of the venture discussions.  

Besides accounting, Kevin’s responsibilities at EGAT include financial planning, risk management, and business planning.

Kevin holds a BA in Finance from Taiwan’s National Cheng-chi University, a Tier-1 tertiary institute specializing in finance and business studies. He is married with 2 children.

Rajiv Dahiya is currently with SpiceJet Airlines in the position of EFB Administrator & Tech Admin - Flight Operations. He leads a multi-functional team responsible for all Electronic Flight Bag systems. Rajiv has spent the last two years introducing EFB to the SpiceJet fleet, deploying 200+ mobile devices, supporting portable EFB platform across multiple fleet types. His team manages the distribution of digital navigation charts, publication of flight manuals and notices to EFB systems. In addition, he is the primary Flight Operations contact with vendors supporting EFB applications, including Boeing, Bombardier, Jeppesen and ViaSat.

Rajiv has over 10 years of experience in commercial aviation, mostly with airline operations and IT. Before joining SpiceJet Airlines, he was with IndiGo Airlines for Automation, Fuel analysis and EFB. Mr. Dahiya is a graduate in B.E. Computer Science.

Fredrik have participated in over 10 major implementation projects of aviation MROsoftware such as AMOS, Aura/M3 and Maintenix with end customers such as Swedish Airforce, Royal Thai Airforce, Hungarian Airforce, Czech Airforce and Scandinavian Airlines. Jörn works at Etihad Airways as a Senior Manager and leads the Operations Efficiency team. Core of his work is the management of Etihad´s Fuel Saving Program. After he joined the company in 2015 a major project was the selection and implementation of a new Fuel Management Information System. Since then, the annual fuel savings have been increased constantly. Currently, a special focus is on cost saving projects enabled by big data analysis. This also includes the introduction of an iPad app providing pilots with flight-related information. As the chairman of the Fuel Efficiency Working Group he coordinates Fuel Saving activities between Etihad and its partner airlines.
Jörn graduated with a Bachelor in Production Management from ESB Reutlingen, Germany (2009) and holds a MBA from the German Graduate School for Management & Law in Heilbronn, Germany (2014).

Since 2016, Mathieu Gimenez is Innovator at the MRO Lab Singapore. He represents Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) in The MRO Lab Singapore, the co-innovation centre in partnership with Ramco Systems. As part of this new lab, he brings his aeronautical expertise to run proof of concepts in a very short time, following design thinking and agile methodologies.

Mathieu is graduated from the top aerospace engineering school in France, ISAE Supaero and owns a Master of Science in aeronautics. He has another aeronautical degree in flight testing in Argentina.

He worked in the USA as a production engineer in Dassault Falcon Jet where he received an important award for the cost savings he brought to the factory. He joined Safran Engine Services (Snecma) where he played a significant role in the Silvercrest flight test campaign in France and in the USA by developing a software to detect sensor failures. Before joining AFI KLM E&M, Mathieu was part of a Dassault Aviation factory plant in France where he industrialized new mechanic tools to accelerate manufacturing methods on the Rafale wing.

Rob’s career started with British Airways in 1977 where, following an apprenticeship, he worked as a licensed avionics engineer in both Line and Base maintenance. In 1985 he moved to the 747 and L1011 planning department before taking a technical support position in BA’s Maintrol Operations centre in 1987.
In 1990 Rob joined Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong as a Main¬tenance Controller and saw the introduction of the 747-400 and Airbus fleet. In’94 he managed the Base Maintenance Support team, covering HAECO and the then new TAECO facility (China). In 1997 he moved back to the operation as Manager of the Maintenance Control Centre.

In 2002 he held the position of Manager Ultramain Program, and was responsible for the replacement Cathay’s legacy Engineering IT systems.

In 2006 Rob was appointed Manager of Aircraft Engineering with technical responsibility for Cathay and Dragonair’s Boeing and Airbus fleets.

As Head of Business Improvement & Lean, Rob led a team implementing many productivity and compliance related projects including electronic Technical Records, A350 software control, e-enabled aircraft and a paperless maintenance strategy including the development of the latest eLog software with Ultramain Systems.

Rob left Cathay Pacific in June this year but continues to support the One World engineering group, IATA Paperless Operations and standards and is currently chair of the Boeing /USI eLog user group.

After passing the National Board exam for Aeronautical Engineer, he worked at South East Asian Airlines as a Technical Service Engineer/Quality Engineer. Two years after, he started his own business in Aircraft servicing and took the position of General Manager for ASTECH Aviation. He went to Singapore Airline Engineering Company to work under the Fleet Management Program in 2007. In 2009, he returned to Philippines and served as the Head of the Engineering of Zest Airways. He got a short stint of work with Air Asia Philippines as a Manager of Engineering. In 2012, he started his career with the aircraft leasing as a Technical Consultant when legacy ILFC signed him in the group, then eventually it was AerCap Aviation that let him continued the job. Concurrently he is providing Technical Consulting with AerCap Aviation and VX Capital for aircrafts returns and deliveries. He founded Wingbox Aviation in 2014 in which until now he is handling the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director position.

Mahendran Thangavelu became Product Manager of SITAONAIR’s Electronic Flight Bag solutions in 2015 when the company was launched as part of SITA Group. Mahen had been with SITA Airline Flight Operations Applications since 2007.

In his role, currently responsible for managing the product, roadmaps and integrations for Electronic Flight Bag solution under cockpit and cabin crew innovation portfolio.

Prior to joining SITA, Mahen had worked in Airline under Emirates Group for 10 years. During that period, he was responsible as Manager Business Systems to implement IT solutions to Flight Operations, Aircraft Engineering/Maintenance, Airport Services and In-Flight Services. He has wide domain experience in Airline Flight Operations and MRO.

Mahen has a degree in Transportation Engineering specialised in airport and Post Graduate in Information Technology from University of Colombo (formerly known as University of Ceylon). In addition Mahen is a member of British Computer Society and holds many certifications including IT Management for Airlines from IATA, Achievement as Application Engineer from Center of the International Corporation for Computerization (CICC) in Japan.

Mahen is based in SITAONAIR’s regional headquarters in London.
